<p>Mantras are unique vibrations that embody specific energies of the Universe. Repetition of Mantra &#8211; called &#8216;Japa Yoga’ &#8211; attracts the Cosmic Energies, channels them inward, and ignites corresponding energies inside the practitioner. Mantras help us energize and centre ourselves, calm the negative chatter of the mind, deal with addictions, improve self-image, break through obstacles in life and induce inner peace and harmony. Japa Yoga promotes concentration, leads to deep meditative state and results in Samadhi &#8211; the goal of Yoga. In this workshop, we will learn about the various Cosmic Energies, called Devatas’ or Deities, prerequisites of a Mantra, accurate pronunciation of a few energizing Mantras, practical applications of Mantras, how to practice Japa Yoga and Mantra Meditation. Insights into Sanskrit will be offered as necessary.</p>

<p>Ashtanga Yoga&#8217;s Second Series, called Nadi Shodhana, works to  cleanse the nervous system through a series of rigorous strength,  backbending, twisting and hip opening postures. This class makes the  challenging postures of the Intermediate series accessible and  approachable to all interested practitioners. The inspired beginner will  find easy, fun and approachable techniques to some of Ashtanga Yoga&#8217;s  most challenging postures, while the avid practitioner and seasoned  veteran will find new techniques to inspire their practice to new levels  of precision. Some prior experience with Ashtanga yoga second series  recommended.</p>

<p><strong>Join Level-2 Authorized teacher David Robson for an intensive, 100-hour Immersion in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.</strong></p>
<p>Daily afternoon workshops will offer training in:</p>
<ul>
<li>practice and alignment clinics</li>
<li>hands-on adjustment techniques</li>
<li>functional anatomy</li>
<li>Sanskrit in the practice</li>
<li>learning the traditional vinyasa count for the Primary Series</li>
<li>philosophy and theory of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and The Yoga Sutras</li>
<li>nutrition to support your practice</li>
</ul>
<p>Registration in the Immersion also includes an unlimited pass to AYCT for the duration of the training.</p>
<p>This Immersion is for both students and teachers. You do not have to be a teacher, or want to be a teacher, to attend. However, students should have an established practice to get the most out of this training.</p>
<p>Please note that this is not a teacher certification course. Only R. Sharath of the KPJ Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India, can grant Authorization and Certification to teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Participants who complete all of the immersion will receive a certificate at the end of the course, but not a teaching certification.</p>

<p>Come spend an idyllic 5-day weekend at sattvic <a title="shanti retreat" href="http://www.shantiretreat.ca" target="_blank">Shanti Retreat</a> on Wolfe Island. Located in Ontario&#8217;s Thousand Islands, just 3-hours  drive from Toronto. Take your time while you practice, and then enjoy a  delicious vegan breakfast overlooking the St. Lawrence. Spend the rest of the  morning lounging around, swimming, walking, or paddling.</p>
<p>Arrive Thursday afternoon in time for dinner. Each morning, from Friday – Monday, will offer practice, both Led and Mysore-style.  The afternoons will feature workshops on Ashtanga practice and technique. On Saturday evening there will be a Satsang.</p>
<p><strong>Cost</strong>: $595 + hst. All vegetarian meals, shared accommodation, and yoga classes are included in the price of the retreat. Transportation to and from the retreat is not included.</p>
