This program is for aspiring and established teachers, who have completed the Ashtanga Primary Series Immersion and are interested in learning the special skills required to assist and adjust in a Mysore room.
The focus of this course will be anatomy and hands-on adjusting techniques. Participants will have the unique opportunity to apprentice under David Robson and train as an assistant in the world’s largest Mysore program outside of India. A portion of the course will be spent on learning how to listen to and help students, practicing with injuries, and supporting students new to the practice.
Enrolment in Assisting School includes an Unlimited Membership to practice at AYCT for the duration of the training.
Course Structure
- Anatomy – 20 hours
- Adjustment Techniques – 45 hours
- Practicum- Assisting in the Mysore room- 25 hours
- Additional Skills in Listening and Helping – 10 hours
Dates
Apprenticing in the Mysore room will be scheduled in one or more weekly 2.5-hour shifts, beginning in May 2013.
Seminars will be on Fridays, 6 – 9p, and Saturdays & Sundays, 12p – 5p

Pricing
$1750 + HST
A $500 non-refundable deposit is required upon acceptance into the training. The remaining balance will be due on or before Friday April 26th, 2012
Enrolment in Assisting School includes an Unlimited Membership to practice at AYCT for the duration of the training.
Pre-requisites & Application
Interested applicants must have previously completed a 100-hour or 40-hour Immersion with David Robson. Applicants also need to have an established, daily Mysore-style practice.

Certification
While this training will provide certification with the Canadian Yoga Alliance, it is important to note that it is not an Ashtanga Teacher Training Program. You will not be “Authorized” or “Certified” to teach Ashtanga Yoga in the lineage of Sri K Pattabhi Jois. Only Sharath Jois of the K Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India can Authorize and Certify teachers of Ashtanga Yoga.
